Opposite the Duomo in Milan is the entrance to Il Mercato. It is a wonderful place where you on one floor can find fresh luxury food. On the next floor you find the Bistrot where you can go and order fresh homemade pasta, meat dishes or salads. You take it all to the table where you want to sit. It is reasonable prices and a great alternative to the restaurants. For lunch there is a hectic atmosphere as people from offices nearby often eat their lunch here. I had Spaghetti alla carbonara, Coteletta Milanese and super fresh salad and rosemary potatoes. Cool place.
